88. Local Thai Church – Pai

Pai is a tourist town located on a high mountain between Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son Province. In this town, there are many tribes of people living together spread out over many different villages. Some of the many groups include the Shan tribe, Karen tribe, Lahu tribe, Hmong tribe and also Northern Thai people. The elders of the only church in Pai have a desire and longing for short term teams to come and partner with them in ministry. There are about 15-20 people in this little church and many of them come from various tribes. The congregation continues to reach out to the community in unique ways and through various opportunities. Your team can teach English at the biggest school in town (250-300 students), trek to many villages, prayer walk, tourist evangelism (many of whom come to Pai for drugs), encourage the church members and participate in various church activities! You can play a part in helping Pai become known as a town and province that glorifies God!

Vision - There is currently no pastor so the vision begins with having someone come and serve at the church either short or long term. The church also desires to reach out to local people who live in Pai through teams and relationship. The church has only 7-8 members who have been meeting together for approximately 5 years now.
